While this is partially true, it is not the #1 factor in determining whether you become the top pick for when work is available. The main factor that companies consider when picking a freelance service technician is dependability.

In most cases, the company wants to deliver good customer service as opposed to just getting the job done eventually. Most customers will choose whether to use a company or not based on how fast they respond to their technical issues. As a result, the companies that hire field service technician has to work with one that can help them & complete the task within the period.

Unfortunately, many computer technicians ignore this, which ends up costing them numerous job opportunities. You may be surprised that despite your high qualifications, you usually end up being ignored for important jobs. They will use that list to grade how satisfactorily the field service technician fulfilled their duties. 3. Always Communicate

Although you are not tied to the company, technical engineer need to let them know what service person are doing. If tech engineer are going to be late, tell them. This will assist them to inform the customer, who can then continue with other tasks, instead of waiting for you to arrive all day.

4. Act and Dress Professionally

Being a freelance service field technician does not mean you have to be sloppy. Not only will that affect your personal reputation, but it could also lead to a customer complaint. This will most definitely affect your rating by the company that hired you.

5. Ensure you Have All the Tools for the Job

Have a checklist with you at all times before leaving for a job. That will help you complete jobs in good time, which will lead to a better ranking by the company when they next have a job.

6. Exude Confidence at the Worksite

The customer expects freelance field service engineer to be an expert. You must exude confidence that you are, or they will think that the company they hired sent them an unqualified hack. If you find yourself in a situation where you cannot fulfill the customer’s requirements, step aside, and ask for help.

7. Remain Calm at the Worksite

When you get to the worksite, some customers may become emotional due to frustrations. It is important that you do not let their emotions affect you.

8. Always Do a Good Job

Always do your best at the worksite so that the customer is happy with the job. It will also ensure the company that hires you places you at the top of their list.

9. Clean Up After Yourself

Do not just do a good job, clean up the worksite when you are done. It will influence how satisfied the customers are with your work.

10. Fill in the Required Paperwork on Time

When you are working on a job, it is likely there will be other technicians hired there too. Fill in your paperwork in good time, which will help the company pay other technicians on time.

If you want to succeed as a freelance field technician, you do not have to perfect on a few of these expectations, ensure that you are great in all ten of them. This is what will lead to companies considering you as a dependable technician. As a result, you will always have a 4 or 5-star rating. As you may have noticed, out of the ten expectations, only one of them has to do with how skilled you are.

Besides that, remember that it is not just your reputation, which is on the line but that of all freelance technicians. When freelancer technician do a good job, it helps spread the word that freelance technicians are a viable option. This will help open up more job opportunities for you as a freelancer in future. Always give every job your best and be dependable at all times.
