A The VMware Certified Professional 6- Network Virtualization (VCP-6 NV) expert is responsible for installing, configuring and monitoring NSX virtual networking implementations, irrespective of the underlying physical architecture. They must have the ability to set up vSphere data center virtualized with VMware NSX. They also must be able to develop and monitor a virtual network, and they must resolve any issue related to Layer 2 switching and both static and dynamic Layer 3 routing.

VCP-6 NV certified professionals must monitor edge services such as DHCP, DNS, and NAT, along with virtual network devices. They must further avoid any lateral spread of threats with VMware NSX software, and they must reduce the scope of compliance by isolating systems that store, process or transmit sensitive data. They also must offer technical support for native networking and security for containerized workloads across application frameworks.

The certified professionals automate networking and security services to avoid operational bottlenecks across application platforms and frameworks. They must have a strong understanding of VMware NSX architecture and the benefits of its implementation. They also must be able to differentiate between physical and virtual network technologies.

Professionals must further play an active role in VMware NSX Integration with third-party products and services and with vRealize Automation (vRA). They must also be able to manage Logical Firewall Services and Distributed Firewall Services.

Certified experts carry out operational tasks within a VMware NSX Environment. They must differentiate single and Cross-vCenter NSX deployments. They must also understand Cross-vCenter requirements and configurations. VCP 6 - NV professionals must further identify and resolve any issues related to the implementation of VMware network virtualizations. They are responsible for logging, backing up and recovering configurations and they must understand NSX automation and conduct both auditing and compliance adherence.

VCP-6 NV experts must configure roles, permissions, and scopes. They further must resolve common NSX installation and configuration issues, and they must rectify common connectivity issues and vSphere networking issues. VCP 6 – NV experts also must implement and use logical switch networks, and they must utilize all the main features of an NSX Edge service gateway. They also must configure NSX Edge Firewalls, and NSX distributed firewalls to restrict network traffic.

Professionals must also set up VMware NSX components for management and control, and they must install VMware NSX Edge services gateway appliances to establish north-south connectivity. VCP 6 – NV professionals are also responsible for VMware NSX data security. They must configure service composer policies and identity-aware firewalls. They must further be able to explain Cisco Nexus and UCS products and features relevant to NSX, and they must develop and execute troubleshooting methodology.

VCP-6 NV professionals must recognize and resolve security configuration issues. They must also utilize vRealize Log Insight for centralized logging, and they must develop a monitoring and operational plan for VMware NSX.

Educational Qualifications

VCP-6 NV experts must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or some related field.
