There are a number of skills that are associated with a quality telecommunications operator.

  • In general, there will require a high school diploma or an equivalent
  • They must be able to speak fluently in the language required, and enunciate well
  • They will also need to have strong multitasking skills; this is because there is a requirement to record, and update any files as necessary
  • Most of them will need to type at least 30 words or more per minute
  • There is often a preference for one year or more experience of telecommunications operative

  • Telecommunications operatives will need to speak clearly and professionally, and they will need to respond to all transfer calls quickly.
  • They will also answer all the general questions about any services provided
  • Telecommunications operative will also set up conference calls, manage a range of location information, as well as the system and printer
  • A telecommunications operator will enter data and keep very accurate records; they will update the database and logs where required, as well as include call information identification numbers
