The professional will offer networking services such as HTTP/HTTPS, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), network file system (NFS), server message block (SMB), Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), secure shell (SSH) and Network Time Protocol (NTP). Red Hat Certified Engineer makes use of network teaming or bonding to setup aggregated network links between two Red Hat Enterprise Linux Systems. They utilize virtualized systems and access Linux file systems. The Certified Engineer is responsible for installing and updating software packages. The professionals have to archive and copy files between systems along with controlling service and daemons.

The professional has to limit network communication with the firewall. They add disks, partitions and file systems to a Linux System. The Red Hat Certified Engineer manages the logical volume management (LVM) storage. They access networked attached storage with the network file system (NFS). The Certified Engineer will automate installation with Kickstart and schedule future Linux tasks.
