CompTIA Network+

CompTIA Network+ is a certification that the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), a US-based non-profit trade body, issues to those professionals in the IT industry who are capable of managing a technology ecosystem.

A mid-level certification for network professionals, CompTIA Network+ tests their capability to support and configure clients of  TCP/IP clients regarding network design, configuration, installation, hardware format, network cabling, supporting, and resolving networking problems. This exam also tests knowledge of candidates of network components and where they operate in connection with the OSI model.

By concentrating on basic principles of networking, the Network+ certification program prepares its students to manage all networking aspects. It makes learners grasp knowledge related to multiple network technologies, installation and configuration, management, media and topologies, and security.

The candidates will get insights into the workings of servers, workstations, local area networks (LANs), metropolitan area networks (MANs) and wide area networks (WANs). They will understand different network operating systems, besides the wired and wireless networks. They will get a basic knowledge of remote access technologies, network access, and security.

Job Responsibilities

The CompTIA Network+ certified individuals configure, manage, and fix networks computer systems, remote access systems, and equipment, such as scanners, copiers, and faxes.  They devise and execute operating networks, as well as configure, supervise, and support crucial network devices.

They determine the needs of users and the requirements for their systems so that they can design, oversees, and maintain their networks. Professionals collect data on routers, systems, and other hardware. They will also estimate costs of equipment.

Also, the certified individuals use routers and switches to split traffic of network and build robust networks. They isolate the pros and cons of current network configurations, apply standards, protocols, and security of the network, sort out computer network issues, and aid in the formation of virtualized networks.

Educational Qualifications and Other Requirements

In order to obtain CompTIA Network + Jobs, professionals must have a minimum of a bachelors' degree in information technology, computer science or engineering.

Although A+ certification helps aspiring networking professionals gain extensive knowledge to work as computer technicians who can troubleshoot PCs, it does not give people a toehold for obtaining all types of entry-level IT jobs.

To sit for the Network+ exam, one should ideally have a minimum of 1-½ year’s hands-on experience, besides certification in A+ or equivalent knowledge.

CompTIA Network+ Jobs & Career Opportunities

With CompTIA Network+ certifications, people can, therefore, gain entry into telecommunications or networking fields. Since being universal is the main advantage of Network+, candidates who have the certification can work on multiple platforms, Cisco or Microsoft or Juniper networks, as network technicians, such as help-desk technicians, security associates, and administrators and so on.

As it is recognized by the US Department of Defense (DoD) and accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), it is valued highly by businesses.
